Come and join us!  We have a variety of group and individual fitness classes for all ages that assist in building physical strength and endurance along with flexibility, balance and coordination.  You will be amazed at the things you will be able to accomplish during these classes and have a great time doing it,

Group and Individual Strength Training Classes

Group Fitness Strength Training Classes
 
Total Body Workout Class is designed to boost your metabolism to burn body fat and lose weight while sculpting strong toned muscle.  This workout combines strength training with free weights (that target all the major muscles) to increase strength, overall body muscle toning, abdominal and core muscle strengthening along with some cardio training ...all into one single workout.  This is a slower pace class that builds physical strength, endurance, toning, and flexibility while having fun and meeting new friends!  Cost: $40/month or Drop-in $8.00/class.  Class meets twice a week Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-6:25 pm  --Call the instructor to sign up.  Instructor: Sandy Tammel 507-272-3731

6:30 A.M. Fitness Express on Tuesdays & Thursdays (30-min.) a fast-pace high intensity circuit training class which boosts your metabolism and energy to help build physical strength and endurance for runners and competitive athletes.  This class will build lean muscle, increase stamina and flexibility while having fun in a group setting!  Cost: $10/class (classes are held twice a week) and paid at the beginning of the month.  Please contact Sandy 507-272-3731 if you are interested in this class.

* Senior Classes:
 

We have started a new Active Senior Fitness Class (Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00-9:45 am) for our more active Senior Men and Women who want to improve their health by taking charge and 'Get Moving'!  This class includes a variety of exercises using hand weights to increase strength, overall body muscle toning and endurance; short circuits of cardio workouts for a healthy heart and strong lungs; and floor exercises at the end of each class with plenty of stretching to increase flexibility!  This class is for any fitness level and is a great starter class to get yourself motivated into exercising!  Cost: $30/month or $5.00 drop-in.  Instructor: Sandy Tammel 507-272-3731


* Senior Strength & Balance Classes (Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00-11:45 pm -- currently not in session. Will re-start in Fall 2017. Register by Sept.11th).  We do a variety of exercises using hand held weights, elastic bands and hand balls to increase our strength and balance.  We also do a short cardio session to help our breathing for a healthy heart and strong lungs.  Cost: $30/month or  $5.00 drop-in.  Instructor: Sandy Tammel 507-272-3731


* Tai Ji Quan - Moving for Better Balance - (Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00 am-Noon) - Starts June 12, 2017.  This is a one-hour session twice a week for 9-weeks.  This is not only for older adults but can be for any age and fitness level. Tai Ji Quan helps improve balance and reduces the likelihood of falling.  Participants will learn balance skills, good body alignment, and coordinated Tai Chi movements while strengthening muscles.  It is a very relaxing class of gentle movements to the sounds of relaxing Tai Chi music.... good for the mind and body!  Classes are a continuation of learning new forms of Tai Chi Movements.  Participation in all 18 sessions is encouraged. First class starts June 12th through August 16th.  Cost: Drop-in $7 per class or $30 per month (six 1-hour sessions per month). Sandy Tammel also teaches Senior Strength & Balance Classes (January-May and September-December) and Tai Ji Quan classes (June, July and August) on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Harmony Community Center 8:15-9:00 am, Spring Valley Community Center 10:00-10:45 am, and Christ Lutheran Church in Preston 11:30-12:15 pm.  Please contact her for scheduled times at 507-272-3731 if you are interested in attending.


* All of the Senior classes listed above are for different fitness levels to help strengthen all major muscles and reduce the likelihood of falling.  Research has shown that people who complete these programs increase their balance significantly and are half as likely to fall or less fearful of falling.

You don't need to be a top fit athlete to have a personal trainer.  Sandy is a certified fitness trainer and instructor for individuals seeking personal training needs to help meet their individual health and fitness goals.  This program is for any age and any fitness level whether it is to reach an athletic goal or just to feel better about yourself and do the things you want to do in your life time.

 Shake  Your Soul   Dance Class -- for any age and all fitness levels !





The Shake Your Soul class is a unique and invigorating approach to body-spirit fitness. It starts with a gentle warm up to loosen up the joints and then the tempo increases and the participants move with more rhythm and power. The class alternates between directed and spontaneous movement. You will experience your own movement pattern, but also the joy of dancing with others.  You do not need any training in dance to participate.  It is appropriate for all fitness levels, as you decide how vigorous or gentle you choose to move.  It is a fun way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, relieve stress and tension, and to increase your joy!   ~Just what the doctor orders, fun exercise!
Celebrate your love of music and movement and try a class!

  Yoga with   Nancy

Yoga is an ancient system for developing health and a wonderful exercise for the mind and body. There are active poses that emphasize the balance of strength and flexibility while maintaining alignment.  Restorative poses create energy and encourage relaxation.

You do not have to be “in shape”, young, or flexible to join a Yoga class.  The Yoga poses are a unique form of exercise in that the same pose can benefit all body types.  Yoga builds strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga gives you the ability to concentrate and focus on just what you are doing at any given moment.  There is no competition.  Each person is working to be the best they can be both physically and mentally with control and awareness.  Yoga is a lifelong exercising program for health and happiness. 
Cost:  $25 for 5 classes or $5.00 drop-in (Tuesday & Thursday mornings 9:00-10:00).  Instructor: Nancy Martinson 507-467-3308.






  Paint  and   Pour Classes

Looking for a fun creative outlet?  Try a “Paint and Pour Class” in downtown Lanesboro. Come by yourself or get a group of friends together for 2 hours of laughter and creativity you never knew you had in you!  Each student will sit down in front of a pre-sketched artist canvas, acrylic paint and brushes.  The instructor Joni Finnegan will guide you step by step through the process of creating your very own painting that you can hang in your home. If you want a “pour”- a libation of any kind please bring it to class with you. You can pick up juices, healthy pick me ups and fresh coffee at Lanesboro’s Community Common Grounds or a bottle of wine/beer at Granny’s Liquors (special discounts for class students). It’s a small town everything is just across the street. So please come and join us. Only one requirement ...laughter and a great mood!  Class sizes are limited so register soon!  $38.00 per student, all painting supplies are provided.
